They said Digital is the next frontier! However, like the steam engine and horse-drawn wagons, digital Ham Radio is kaput. Modes of digital transmission as multiple frequency shift keying (MFSK); wireless local area networks (WLAN); D-STAR; DMR; NXDN; P25; Codec2; Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) and Packet Radio are kaput. The Digital Amateur Radio hobby has faded away into history as more people fall in love with the Internet. What good is a hobby that relies on having someone to talk with on the radio and all you hear is static? When the Internet has loads of things to do. That's when we (KE4JCD & KF4BEL) got rid of our antenna's, which were an eye-sore and sold out. It's time to stop promoting obsolete digital technology and upgrade to Zello, Jitsi, Zoom, Social Media, Gaming, reading eBooks, Online Shopping, etc. Today, we (KE4JCD) enjoy our retirement by reading eBooks on our Fire Tablet; it is where we got our nickname of Bookworm Cowboy. We (KE4JCD & KF4BEL) love hunting for deals on Amazon, eBay, etc. I (KE4JCD) play multiplayer games as World of Tanks, World of Warships, World of Warplanes, Grand Theft Auto Online, Avakin Life, Chess.com, Sudoku, Lichess.org, Lidraughts.org, etc. The only sports I (KE4JCD) enjoy is Esports, and we love viewing our favorite Esports game players/teams on Dlive.tv, Twitch.tv or Storyfire. I (KE4JCD) listen to fire and police call on our smartphone with an app, Scanner Radio Pro. We (KE4JCD & KF4BEL) ONLY enjoy classic TV shows or movies from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, the good stuff.
